Gumboot Up

GUMBOOT UP ON FRIDAY 5 APRIL
We are asking you and teachers to wear Gumboots to school next Friday April 5th, in support of Gumboot Friday.  Put your gumboots on and bring along a gold coin donation.  All funds raised on the day will provide free counselling to young people who need it.

There will also be a gumboot throwing competition and a prize for the best dressed gumboot.  So get out your glitter and gold and sparkles and bedazzle those gummies.

Otago Maths Competition

There is an important meeting today in B9 during lunch time for all Otago Maths Competition participants.

Year 12 Careers Assembly Tuesday 9 April 12.30 pm

Guest speakers are AUT University and NZ Defence Course. Both offer great pathways and opportunites for you after you leave WCs NPOW. Year 12 Careers programme will comence after this assembly (in class). There will be one more YrCareers assembly at beginning of July with Unitec and Auckland University presenting.

There will be a lunchtime meeting inside the sport centre on FRIDAY for all students interested in playing Table Tennis next term. Competition is on Thursdays at Gillies Ave.

SQUASH

Squash training commences this Friday, 7am at the unitec squash centre – gate 3 carrington rd. New boys and girls are welcome to attend.

BADMINTON

Badminton training on THURSDAY at lunchtime inside the gym. Don’t be late…

GLOW

Come to D9 Thursday lunchtime for GLOW.  This week we are praying for Christchurch and looking at faith over fear.  Free snacks and great chats.

GATEWAY SKYCITY CHEF OPPORTUNITY

“SKY CITY GATEWAY IN KITCHENS PROGRAMME 2019
Sky City are proud to introduce a brand-new Gateway initiative for YR13 students who are interested in career as a chef, who are “work ready” with the possibility of gaining an apprenticeship with Sky City Auckland, and a chance to earn 18 credits at level 3. Students spend 10 consecutive days Monday-Friday during the school holidays over terms 1, 2 and 3, at Sky City, a 5-star Hotel in Auckland, in the kitchens.
