Fundraiser for our own winning Spoken Word team for the 2018 Trans – Tasman Slam . Next Tuesday 30th October at the school hall . Doors open 6:30 pm – $10 students, $15 adults, . Along with our team Includes a showcase of slam teams featuring Jess B, Melodownz, Te Kahu Rolleston and DJ Exile. KAI Available

The Peace Ambassadors are having a bake sale on Thursday at lunchtime to raise money for Youthline. They do an awesome job supporting young people, so please bring cash on the day! At the same time you can help us decorate our Peace Wheel, and take a selfie in our frame.

SPORTS DINNER TICKETS

It’s that time of the year where we get to acknowledge our sports teams and athletes. This year’s Sports Dinner will be held on Monday, November 5 at The Manhattan. Tickets can be bought at the front office from WEDNESDAY, 24 OCTOBER until FRIDAY, 2 NOVEMBER, or when all tickets are sold. Tickets cost $55pp., which includes a buffet dinner.

Junior Philosophy Workshop – ethics and social media

Are you interested in philosophy, ethics or social media? If so, we are taking a group of year 9 and 10 students to a workshop on the ethics surrounding social media on November 15 at St Cuthbert’s College. It is for any student who has either taken and enjoyed Philosophy or has an interest in ethics and thinking about social media. Please send Ms Johnson (philosophy) an email (johnsonp@wsc.school.nz) letting her know you are keen. The cost is $15 pp + approximately $5-10 for bus hire. We have taken groups of students to these events in the past and they are always great!

Brooke Stilwell will be availble to assist with any of the following; Transitioning to university from high school, applying for university course entry, studylink/student loans, studylink/student allowance, orientation day and how to navigate it, study tips, academic workshops, wellbeing whilst studying tips.
travelling to and from uni and how you can save money, student services, external support system, budgeting as a student, extracurricular, working whilst studying, general discussion. “
