Colmar Brunton are hosting an event with the Sustainable Business Council to release the latest findings of the Better Futures Report. This year for the first time in the report they have included input from kiwi youth aged 13 -17 yrs old to understand whether youth concerns are the same or different to adult concerns. Among the highest concerns for youth are mental health issues, waste reduction and climate action.

This event acts as a forum to share this research with businesses and community. We have been offered two tickets.

2020 cricket

Hi all

I will be calling for a meeting morning interval Friday for all cricketers to go over the 2020 season and finalizing our junior grades and the possibly of two teams.it is very important that we get everyone at the meeting so we can have the best chance to insure all our student get to play cricket

2020 Young Leaders Sustainability Programme

Are you interested in actively practicing kaitiakitanga and championing action for Te Taiao (the environment) now and for future generations? You will also be exposed to a range of sustainability career pathways.

Auckland Council has invited two rangatahi (youth) & one reserve from our kura to take part in council’s 2020 Young Leaders Sustainability Programme.

When:
15-17 April 2020, three day ‘Life Below Water’ wananga connecting with the Manukau Harbour.
AND
One day hui during the July, October and December holidays.

Who:
2 x (and one reserve) Year 9-12 students who want to develop their leadership
Enthusiastic rangatahi who want to grow their connection with Te Taiao and take sustainable action for the environment.

This year for the first time in the report they have included input from kiwi youth aged 13 -17 years old to understand whether youth concerns are the same or different to adult concerns. There are some very interesting results. Among the highest concerns for youth are mental health issues, waste reduction and climate action.

 

The event acts as a forum to share this research with businesses and community. The results of this year’s report will be presented and there will be discussion from some of NZs business decision makers about how they are taking action on these issues. There is a youth representative the panel who will be championing the concerns of
