It’s week three and we have definitely hit the ground running this term. The relative ‘busy’ness in the department is evident with the various Senior internal grades starting to be peer assessed, verified and entered. The Junior school has also been gathering momentum with Y10 Semester 1 students completing work for NCEA Level 1 and report evening for all Juniors happening next week.
This month’s EOTC is for the three Y13 Senior Art classes, who will attend the prestigious Auckland Art Fair at the Cloud on Queens Wharf. Despite the late addition to the year’s trips, we felt the ability to preview the best of local dealer galleries and their artists in one venue – at a reduced cost and with an Elam student tour guide was far too good an opportunity to miss.
This year’s senior Art History class combines Y12 and Y13 students focusing on Modern Art movements during 1900-1940 – these are some examples from the practical applications of the styles covered.
