Top Scholar Awards, Grand Hall, Parliament Buildings, Wellington
The Top Scholar Awards ceremony celebrates the academic achievements of the highest achieving secondary school students in the New Zealand Scholarship Examinations. This year Springs students were again represented with Caspian Rive receiving the Top Subject Scholar Award for History. Our photo shows Caspian, the Prime Minister and Graeme Moran (his History Scholarship teacher) and myself in the Grand Hall following the presentation of the award. Graeme was able to attend as a special guest of the Prime Minister in recognition of his outstanding record of success in History teaching. One third of all outstanding scholarships in History in the 2020 Scholarship Examinations came from Western Springs College. Caspian’s success follows that of Ruskin Swedlund (History) and Jack Naish (Technology) from the 2019 Awards ceremony.
