WSCW success at SmokefreeRockquest Auckland heats – bands and solos
On Saturday afternoon (11 June 2022), 27 bands from 15 Auckland Central schools made lots of noise, pumping out original music in the Dorothy Winstone Centre. The bands were competing in the Auckland Central region heats.
WSCW was represented in 5 of these bands – more than any other school!  It was so good to be in the audience with the WSCW students as they showed their LOUD vocal support for each other.
Congratulations for great performances to:
This Machine Means Murder
Callum Bowes, Flynn Bowes, Rufus Holmes, Gus singleton-Marsh, Toby Gracewood-Easther
Sam Blamires, Alex Tyrell, Max Murray, Barney Salmon, Ari Cornwell
Vivid Haze
Ava Walker, Kaiya Walker
Park Bench
Leo Main-Bennett, Finn Bailey, Sam Boston, Zac Green
Zylah Vivace
This Machine means Murder, COLD SWEATS and Vivid Haze are through to the regional finals! Watch this space for more news.
On Sunday, the morning after the ball, Elly-Mae Lawson was our rep at the solo/duo section of this competition.
Elly-Mae was placed first in the Auckland region!!  CONGRATULATIONS!
Those who know this fabulous young woman will not be surprised at this result, but she was.
Here are some of the WSCW crew on Saturday afternoon. I’m pleased to say they were much more lively on stage!
