On August 7th, Waiōrea students attended the Mazda Wildlife Career Expo at the Auckland Zoo. They went around to various booths to talk to companies and organisation that work to protect Aotearoa’s native wildlife. They also got to hear informal talks from a zoo vet and an animal keeper. After a tour of the zoo, the day wrapped up with hearing from four inspiring guest speakers and their various education and career pathways.
One of the parents of a student who went replied – “He came home absolutely buzzing with enthusiasm. He has had a passion for working with animals since he was 3, and this was awesome for him!”
