Our Year 12 Western Springs College student, Charli Dunn, was recently selected as part of the 19-player squad announced by NZ Football to play in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) U-16s Women’s Championship for 2023, which is currently being played in Tahiti (13-26th September).
Charli was one of two players from our neighbouring Western Springs Association Football Club (WSAFC) to be selected in this 2023 OFC Women’s Football squad.
NZ was placed top in Group B for the tournament alongside Samoa, Cook Islands and Vanuatu, and Charli was named in the starting lineup in the match against the Cook Islands and Fiji.
NZ is set to play Tonga in the semi-final on Sat night (23rd Sep). The play-off for 3rd place and the final will be held on Tuesday 26th September. We wish you well for the rest of the tournament, Charli!

Charli is also co-Captain of our WSC First XI Girls Football & First XI Girls Cricket teams, and the co-Captain for the WSAFC Under 18s Girls team who qualified for the National Youth League. Charli is also a member of the WSCW Sports Council.
