This year Western Springs College is participating in Shave for a Cure.  Eight people – adults and children – are diagnosed with blood cancer each day in New Zealand. Some of those cancers include leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Blood cancer diagnosis and treatment is a really emotionally and physically taxing process. Part of this is that patients often lose their hair when undergoing chemotherapy treatments.

Shave for a Cure is a fundraiser for blood cancer New Zealand, where some of our amazing students will raise money and shave their hair to stand in solidarity with those affected by blood cancer. The money raised will go towards Blood Cancer NZ’s work in investing in life-saving cancer research, patient support and advocacy, information and raising awareness.

In the past we have raised $2800, this year we are aiming to surpass this. However, we need your help to do so! Your donations are invaluable in powering research and delivering crucial care and support for people living with blood cancer in New Zealand.

We already have many students putting their hand up to make the brave contribution to the cause by shaving their hair. If you would like to sign up to shave or donate to Western Springs’ Shave for a Cure, follow this link: https://www.shaveforacure.co.nz/fundraisers/westernspringscollege/
