Sabina Tunnicliffe has been named for the NZ U18 representative Ice Hockey travelling team. She is one of only two players from Auckland on the 18-strong girls team who will be traveling to Sofia Bulgaria for the Division 2 World Tournament from January 8-14, 2024. This is the 2nd year in a row that Sabina has been named to the traveling team, and she is one of the youngest players.
During the NZ ice hockey season, Sabina also plays for the Auckland Steel in the New Zealand Women’s Ice Hockey League (part of the NZIHL). This year, the Steel beat the Wakitipu Wild – the reigning champions from Queenstown – to win the women’s gold medal. Sabina is also the youngest player for the Steel, with many players having played ice hockey since before she was born!
Best of luck Sabina, we look forward to hearing how it goes.
