Many of you will have read the piece from a local principal in the NZ…

Ngā Kapa Haka Kura Tuarua o Aotearoa 2026 (Kapa Haka Nationals 2026) took place at Mercury Baypark, Mount Maunganui during the last week of Term 2 (30 June-2 July), bringing together over 42 of Aotearoa’s top secondary school kapa haka rōpū – including Ngā Puna O Waiōrea (NPoW).
Many, many hours, days, weeks & months were put into this kaupapa by our Waiōrea tauira, kaiako, kaimahi, tutors and whānau. While NPoW unfortunately did not progress to the finals day, we were proud to watch their stunning performance and we hope they enjoy some well-earned rest over the upcoming Matariki weekend and the rest of the term break before they move onto their next kaupapa (Autaia).
