Triennial elections for the Western Springs College-Ngā Puna O Waiōrea School Board will soon be taking place in Term 3.
Our co-governance constitution means that we have positions on our School Board for both Ngā Puna O Waiōrea (NPoW) and Kura Auraki (Western Springs College or WSC), our English medium pathway. Voting is easy and we encourage everyone to participate and have a voice in the future direction of your learners’ school.
In this round of elections for WSC, three parent-elected positions and one WSC staff-elected position are available to become Board Members.
In this round of elections for NPoW, nominations are invited for the selection of one kaiako/kaimahi tautoko-selected position and two whānau-selected positions to become Board Members. One of the whānau-selected positions will be held for Mana Whenua to ensure there is Ngāti Whātua representation.
The NPoW kaiako/kaimahi tautoko-selected Board Member selection hui will be held in Ngā Oho at 4pm on Tuesday 9 August 2022.
The Selection Process will occur at the scheduled whānau selection hui at 6pm on Wednesday 10 August 2022 in Te Rehu.
The call for nominations for both WSC and NPoW is now open and closes on Wednesday 3 August 2022 at 12noon.
If there are more applicants than the number of eligible positions for either WSC or NPoW, then voting forms and candidate information will be sent out on 10 August – with the opportunity to attend a “Meet the Candidates” event to be held in late-August.
You can cast your vote any time up to 7 September 2022. Successful candidates will be notified soon after 7 September and our school community advised of the new Board members. The first meeting of the School Board with its new members will be on Monday 26 September 2022 during the final week of Term 3.
