Supporting your child’s career journey Dear Parents and Whānau, Choosing a career path can feel…

At Springs Waiōrea, our tauira/learners experience nationally recognised learning support, cultural activities, comprehensive sporting programme and smaller class sizes in the junior years that are made possible by the support of whānau through the annual school donation.
It is simply not possible to offer all that we do without this financial support.
We use your donation to strengthen learning support beyond what is possible from the Ministry of Education operations grant. At Springs Waiōrea we have developed the excellent Learning Centre which plays a critically important role in helping all students achieve academic success. In 2025, over 500 students accessed support from the Learning Centre. This included students who needed some additional support to pass but also those who wanted to lift their achievement to Merit, or Excellence. The Learning Centre is for everyone!
Similarly, the Learning Support Department is able to be additionally resourced to provide an exceptional service for families with students who have significant learning differences.
The donation also enables us to run a comprehensive sports programme catering for students in over 60 teams representing Springs Waiōrea in a wide range of Auckland College Sport competitions. Donation funds contribute to the cost of sports equipment and salaries for administrators and coaches.
Waiora, our Student Services Centre (including nurses, physiotherapist and counsellors), is well resourced (but there is always scope for more!) and a very valuable and busy part of our school. The team provides valuable health and well being care, which has the ability to benefit all of our students whether directly or indirectly.
The donation also funds the wide range of cultural activities on offer at Springs Waiōrea.
Through careful budgeting, and with the support of school donations, we are able to staff the school with additional staff beyond our entitlement from the Ministry. This translates into the highest quality teaching support for your sons and daughters and smaller classes in the junior school.
With our enlightened approach to uniforms (we don’t have one), many families see the benefit of avoiding the significant expense that uniforms can bring. Now that we are a BYOD school at all levels, stationery and workbook costs have dropped considerably too.
The requested donation for Springs Waiōrea is $500 for a single student and $600 for families with more than one student at the school. Whether you can make a full or partial payment now, your contribution is greatly appreciated. We would like to thank all those families who supported the school financially in this way by making the donation last year.
