We are proud to be the first high school in Aotearoa New Zealand to be awarded the Living Wage Tick! This means that all our directly employed and indirectly contracted employees will receive at least the Living Wage (currently $20.55 per hour). This represents a significant increase for our lower paid staff and takes them out of the poverty gap that existed for those who were earning less before 1 January 2019. The school’s action has the support of the unions who represent our staff.
Pictures show Principal Ivan Davis and Business Manager Howard Blackwell receiving a Certificate from Felicia Scherrer, Living Wage Aotearoa New Zealand, and representatives of staff and unions celebrating with a Living Wage cake!
