Those alumni who attended Seddon from 1967 to 1983 will, I’m sure, remember Cyril Hicks…
Isobel Christie competed in the 2019 National Council of Women speech competition and was awarded second place. She shares a few comments on her experience.
The National Council for Women Speech Competition was a very rewarding experience. Everyone there was so supportive and it was lovely to see all the different speeches from the girls and their views on the world. I would recommend the event to any feminists from Western Springs who want to meet and hear other like-minded people share their ideas. Believe me, it is actually really, really fun. I was lucky enough to receive second place at the event, along with $300 and I will most probably compete again in 2020. I hope to see more people step up and enter this fun, fulfilling competition next year.
