Visual Art News

Welcome to Visual Art in 2024!

We are excited to introduce a new addition to our team, TeRina Kapa-Vivian who is joining us as a long-term reliever (LTR) for the year. TeRina is an energetic first year teacher, teaching Y9 Art, Y11 Art and also L2 & L3 Art Design.

TeRina comes to us with a background in practical special effects, and studies in Māori arts, such as Toi Raranga and Toi Whakairo.

This year we are diving into a new Y11 Art programme as we step away from portfolio boards and experiment with the different fields within Visual Art: Design, Painting, Photography, Printmaking and more. Watch this space for possible exhibitions of student work.

A notice for all students who had work displayed in the Junior Arts Festival and the Junior Prize-Giving last year – please come and collect your work from the Art Office to take home.

To past Senior Art students – your portfolio boards are kept safe with us until the end of March and we will send out a notice for you to come collect them at that time.

Hope to see you around the Art area soon!
